Challenge
The team at Oosterhof Electric faced a significant challenge when the central processing unit (CPU) of their existing fire alarm panel, which had been discontinued, suddenly failed. Tasked with replacing the fire alarm system for the Gananoque Canadian Tire location, Oosterhof Electric leveraged their expertise to implement an effective solution.
Solution - Modern and Advanced Fire Alarm System
Oosterhof Electric chose to integrate Maple Armor’s innovative and cost-effective fire safety products, which were perfectly suited for this critical project. The new fire alarm system now features the highly reliable Maple Armor FW106 single-loop compact fire alarm panel, designed for efficiency and ease of use. This is complemented by the FW511 smoke detectors, which offer advanced detection capabilities, and the FW521 heat detectors, ensuring comprehensive coverage against fire hazards. Additionally, the installation of FW721 manual stations allows for quick and easy manual activation in case of an emergency. The system also includes FW811 input modules and FW851 isolator modules, enhancing the overall functionality and reliability of the fire alarm system.
Impact
One of the significant advantages of this upgrade was the ability of Oosterhof Electric to save costs for Canadian Tire by retaining the existing horns already installed in the previous system. This strategic decision not only reduced expenses but also minimized disruption during the transition to the new fire alarm setup.
