Founded 69 years ago, Alcide Parent’s sugar shack suffered a fire in May 2022 and was rebuilt from the ground up. This sugar shack, which specializes in catering during the sugaring-off season and summer, is one of the most popular in the Joliette region, with a capacity of up to 450 people. The new building is equipped with a Maple Armor FireWatcher® FW106S fire alarm system.
The fire alarm system provides fire detection for the entire building, which has no fire protection system (sprinklers). The fire alarm signalling system consists of an audible/visual horn to ensure that occupants can hear the alarm if required.
