Position summary & objectives:

The primary responsibility of the Systems Engineer is to be the overall technical lead for New Product Development projects for Fire Alarm Control Panels and peripheral devices. The Systems Engineer will work with a team of multidisciplinary product development engineers (some remotely located) and be responsible for overall product definition, architecture development and system integration activities, including the definition and integration of hardware, firmware and software components. In early phases of new projects, will work with Product Management to properly scope initial design concepts with appropriate cross-functional team members. Will also be responsible for coordinating technical program execution to ensure various aspects of the design are properly implemented for successful product launch.

Responsibilities:
  • Define product design requirements and specifications to meet customer needs
  • Develop and analyze design concepts
  • Develop overall system architectures along with those of subsystems and components

Firmware Architect will be responsible for application design and development for fire alarm control panels. Individual must have the ability to analyze requirements, derive specifications, develop architecture and design, implement, and perform unit testing. The selected candidate must have a background in software development for products, design and code review, devices/system interaction and troubleshooting, and will be involved in all aspects of the system software development process (concept, design, reviews, coding, and validation). The selected candidate shall be able to work individually and with team – locally and globally. Need to work with teams at global locations across different time zones.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and support the design and development of embedded firmware, PC and Web based applications for the Fire Alarm Systems
  • Implement and adhere software development methodologies and continuous integration
  • Implement and maintain software versioning and revision control
  • Set quantifiable objectives that encapsulate quality attributes of application and product
  • Identify, design and develop software monitoring test tools for fire alarm panels

Qualification:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong in Embedded C/C++/C#, object oriented software development and assembly language
  • Experience on RTOS and / or non RTOS based system designs
  • Experience on 8 / 16 / 32 bit micro controllers
  • Must have experience with embedded software development tools, emulators and JTAG
  • Must have experience with software version control and defect tracking software
  • Experience with model based design tools such as UML
  • Development experience with serial communications including RS485, RS232, USB and CAN

Validation Engineer will be responsible for functional and performance validation and verification of Fire alarm products – new product Development and/or Sustenance products.  Candidate must be able to develop test cases based upon functional and product design specifications, create and execute test plans, and report results as per standard policies and procedures.  Candidate must be abreast with latest technologies and trends, relevant standards; should be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multinational team environment. Candidate should be able identify automation opportunities & implement them in the program.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support the Validation and Verification testing for the Fire Alarm Systems and peripheral devices
  • Write and execute test cases that conform to the technical and functional specifications for Firmware and Software applications
  • Quickly understand the requirement and contribute to test plan and test case reviews
  • Maintain test and defect management tools to document and track product defects
  • Collaborate with engineers and stake holders to ensure a comprehensive set of test cases for Fire alarm systems domain product & enhancements
  • Gain knowledge of process and tools used for Test engineering team and apply them as required
  • Contributes to documentation and to present test results as per the QA policies and procedures
